Dr. Pakorn Apaphant, head of Thailand’s Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), revealed that space-based intelligence and geographic data have become game-changers for the nation’s progress across economic, social, environmental, and security fronts. The agency is ramping up its data services to empower smarter decision-making at every level while expanding partnerships across all industries.
GISTDA recently hosted its Customer Engagement Event 2025 under the compelling theme “Space Data, Powering Performance.” The landmark event brought together government bodies, businesses, and key players to harness cutting-edge space technology and unlock the full potential of satellite data for Thailand’s digital transformation.
Dr. Siriluk Prukpitikul, GISTDA’s Deputy Executive Director, delivered an inspiring talk titled “Together Toward Better Decisions: Co-Creating Our Future Space-Based Solutions.” She mapped out bold strategies for using space intelligence to strengthen evidence-based policymaking through cross-sector teamwork and innovation.
Participants explored three dynamic exhibition zones featuring breakthrough technologies:
1. Geo Data Service Intelligence – showcasing the ambitious Mega Constellation Project and AWAGAD platform for seamless data flow
2. Geo Space Solutions – spotlighting platforms like Carbon Atlas, LAND-X, advanced 3D mapping service, and the Dragonfly
3. Capacity Building Hub – highlighting training programs to build Thailand’s space-tech workforce
The event culminated with the prestigious GISTDA Awards 2025, celebrating organizations that have excelled in leveraging space data for sustainable national advancement.
